Well, I blew it today, and royal. JV girls, church league tournament, simply lousy ball. I gave them a good game -- except for one really nasty uncorrectable error. Handed the ball out of bounds to the wrong team, and it didn't get discovered until way too late. Opponent took the ball down for a quick three-point shot, closing the gap to two points -- and then went on to win by two.

Coach was quick to point out at the end of the game that "that was a very significant mistake." I refrained from pointing out that his players had turned the ball over at least ten times after that error by bad passes, and ill-considered shots. And that they had missed at least 10 free throws. And that they had fouled out two players, thus giving the opponent several points on foul shots.

I still felt awful. Still do. Oh, well. He's from out of town, and i"ll probably never see him again. That's a relief.
