Not sure you are going to get one. A hold is not really defined in specific terms that I am aware of. The rulebook just says that you cannot do it. But a handcheck is not defined directly in the rulebook either. But it has been a POE in the past and it just suggests that you cannot direct, displace, hold or control a dribbler. Handchecking is only contact with the dribbler. It does not apply (from what I remember) to a player without the ball.

Peace

Holding is illegal personal contact with an opponent (can be offense or defense) that interferes with the opponent's freedom of movement.

Hand check is committed by the defense against the player in control of the ball.

In reality, the five categories of fouls overlap a lot.

Essentially, a handcheck could also be classified as either a hold, illegal use of hands, or a push. Before a couple of years ago, there was no handcheck foul, yet all of the same contact situations were covered by existing fouls. It was added only to increase awareness and put emphasis on this particular type of foul.
