What are the costs for your local association memebers to join the state or nfhs. Do you get books with this fee and is there extra costs for additional sports?

In Arizona it is $40 that includes rule book,case book,and official's manual.It also includes NFHS membership.

We don't pay booking fees for assigning games.

Up here in canada, we pay $60 yearly for our membership in OABO, and CABO, and it included the rulebooks.

IAABO dues are extra.

I think it'll go up soon.

In Wyoming, we pay 41 dollars for the first sport 20 for any additional sports, this inlcudes NFHS dues, and books...we pay 5 dollars to join our local football assoc, and 10 for basketball....oh yeah and we pay 2 dollars per JR high assignment in basketball, to pay the secretary and assignonr

Texas Association of Sports Officials - Houston Chapter is 70 dollars for your first season and 115 or 125 after your first season. Damian, Brad, or BigWhistle may have to correct me on that one. Includes 6 week mechanics,rules,scrimmaging/training prior to the season, rule books, case book, mechanic book, and BBQ dinner at end of the season. We pay 1.00 for all subvarsity assignments and 2.00 for all varsity assignments. Again I'll have to double check because i havnt gotten my invoce for the season yet.

Where I am we pay the local officials assn $70 in dues at the start of the season. For that we get all four NFHS books, the California assn manual, and membership in the NFHS. We used to take the two NFHS tests, but that stopped this season. On top of this we also pay 3% of all of our game fees to the local assn.

The state assn, which administers the schools and sets their game schedules (who plays whom and when), then makes us pay them an additional $12 to "register as an official." If we wish to attend the post-season banquet it is another $20.
Lastly, if we wish to attend any games during the season, which we are not officiating, we have to either pay the $5 entry at the door or buy a season pass for $35. Until this year we were issued cards that got us into any game for free, but alas that has been dropped, too.

In Illinois, it is $35 register which includes a rulebook. It is $15 for each additional sport that you want to officiate.

In Indiana it the IHSAA charges $50 for up to 3 sports to remain liscened/certified each year. My local association charges $35, covers all sports. We don't charge anything for assigning; it's taken care of pretty nicely in Football, in Basketball you have to work harder on getting assignments yourself.

In Tennessee, it's $40 for the first sport and $25 for each additional sport to register with the state. Most of the local associations also charge annual dues.

In Utah you pay $30 for the books etc. Then each Association has their own dues. The Salt Lake Area officials is $30.

In San Diego CA, the cost is $55. That includes rule books and CBOA manual. You also pay one varsity game fee to the assignor, which in this case is $56.

In my assoc. we pay $35 for books and membership to NFHS. We also pay assigning dues. I had a light schedule this year because of college gaems and paid about $40 in assigning dues.

Seems a little high to me. I only did 13 games.

Thats about 3.75 a game.

In northern VA, we pay 10% for assigning - both HS and rec, but we don't have to hustle our own games. I don't do any games (other than Special Olympics) that aren't assigned by my association.

Will have to check my records at home tonight to see what VHSL dues are.

Here in Iowa, you don't have to belong to a local association, but most do. I pay the state high school athletic association $40 each year which covers 2 sports, $5 for each additional sport. This is only to do boys games. The girls sports are covered under the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, I pay them $25 for one sport, $5 for each additional. Dues at my local association are $15 per year, I get very few games through them and there is no assigning fee that I am aware of. I also have a reciprocal certification in Illinois which costs $15 for one sport, $5 for each additional sport.
