I'm new to officiating, just wondering what steps I need to take to get to where you guys or gals are in your careers as far a becoming an NCAA D-I official?

Lots of camps. Get to know those officials in your association who work college ball and they can point you in the right direction for your area.

Of course, let us know what area of the country you are in and we might be able to help too!

All of the things that people mention will be important, but remember taht you have to have talent and ability.

That along with all of the other stuff and some luck.

There may be some truth to this, but only after you have earned your way to the level of NCAA. If you don't have the skills then you won't last.

Above is Correct....

I have worked Juco Women's for about 6 years, and last summer decided to break down and attend some camps. Just today, I have recieved my first NCAA Div III post season assignment as a rookie.

Politics will get you in the door, but to set up habitation, you had better be able to handle your business on the floor!

I have refereed with great officials that AREN'T div 1 officials and also some that are that IMHO weren't THAT much better than others I have worked with, but because of their location had better schedules. Your proximity to airports, and other metropolitan areas also has quite a bit to do with it believe it or not.....
