As it is the season of Lent I need to give something up. Therefore I thought it would be appropriate to give up my one sided posts of officials and to try and be more understanding and knowledgeable in the job that you all do. Now I can not promise that Im not going to disagree with you but Im going to try to ask questions that will not offend this board as much. No promises but Im going to try.

Your friend,

Unless you decide to give up posting on this forum, nobody really gives a flying tinker rat's patoot. Get lost and stay there.

My hope was he would give up oxygen.

A man and his wife were sitting on the couch one night when she started getting romantic.

"I'm sorry, honey." he said. "I can't do this. It's Lent."

"Oh really?" replied the wife. "To whom and for how long?"

I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, and I encourage you to take to heart this little ditty:

Actions speak louder than words.

Juulie, you're a much gentler person than I am; but frankly, this clown used up the benefit of my doubt by his second post.

I vote for yankin' him, too.

My lenten vow

I've decided I'm giving up self-denial for Lent.

Be careful, you'll go blind doing that.

I don't get a chance to read this forum everyday - I tend to go in spurts. From what I've read above my post, it seems that you might have crossed a line with some. I never read the original posts.

Being a Christian, I know that forgiveness is a wonderful thing. If you feel that using Lent in this manner will improve yourself, then I support it. Lent is an opportunity to grow as a person and not to be taken as a temporary dissolve from past faults.

There are posters here that will likely forget more about basketball officiating that I will ever know. More than likely you will fall into the same category.

Be a sponge in the next 40+ days and earn respect. Someone here has a tagline that reads something like the greatest gift is to love the game. Another tagline reads that some people are wise and that others are otherwise. It might take me longer than others, but I want to be wise. Where do you wish to be?

Is that not one of those 'things' similar to "everything I say is a lie?"

A verbal black hole of sorts.
