i know that that the mere fact of getting a top self match for any D1 game is priceless but since the icing on the cake is what i put in my pocket can any of you put you $.02 what official at each level are making on the average???

My guess is::: (N.Carolina)
J.V.---$50 (2man)
Varsity---$65 (3man)
Jr. College---$140???
DIII---$175???
DII---$250???
DI---$650???
How far off am I????????????

If your forum sells more coke, etc. are there any percentages involved???

What's the perks involved with excepting assignments??? All-inclusive packages? (Trans., Billet, meals, per diem, rental, etc.)

In Central Illinois (HS only)

Jr High (2 games) - $35 - $40
Freshman (1 Game) - $30 - $35
JV (1 Game) $30 - $40
Varsity $45 -$60.

Really, none of these numbers are really that accurate across the board. I live in Illinois, and I have been payed more or less in each of these situations you list depending on the school I worked at.

Like I said, I have never witnessed a across the board fee that we get paid. It all depends on the school, conference and sometimes school district or even officials association involved.

But I will say this, the D1 game is much higher. It is usually around $1000. And that does not included your travel, which includes airfare, hotel and even meals. Now some of the college levels below that, I usually do not see anything more than $150 from my knowledge. But again there are different regions involved in that equation.

Really???

Geeeezzzz.....Is the drop really that much from D1 (>$1000) to the D2 ranks ($150est.)approx.

Re: Yes Really!!!

Yes!!! If you think about it, D1 conferences get big money for TV alone. The only time you see a D2 game on TV is if maybe it is a local team or it is at the end of the year in the Championship game. $1000 is a drop in the bucket compared to all the other expenses these schools have to pay to have a game and the revenue that they generate from that game.

Washington State High School
Varsity 2A - 4A = $44.00 + $8.00
Varsity B & A = $37.00 + $8.00
Sub Varsity = $27.00 + $8.00

Junior College
2 person = $82.00 + Travel
3 person = $55.00 + Travel

NCAA DIII = $90.00 + Travel
NCAA DII = $125.00 + Travel

No. D1 is not $1000. From the statement below, you can infer that $750 is the common amount for major conferences.

From http://www.ncaa.org/news/20000103/active/3701n07.html

The committee also will recommend to the cabinet that officials' game fees during the entire tournament be increased from $575 per game to $750 per game, which would be more consistent with what other major conferences pay officials during the regular season.

Nope.

J.V. (3 man)---2 games $60, 1 game $40
J.V. (2 man)---2 games $70, 1 game $50
Varsity (3 man)---2 games $70, 1 game $50

Add $10 for Tournament and Playoff games
Travel is included in the flat game fee.
The NCHSAA sets the price for all high school games.

In Colorado
Subvarsity $28.50 per game
Varsity $46.00

Division one is different from conference to confernce.
last year it was $800 for Pac 10 and it was $500 for Mountain West. If my memory serves right, the NCAA tournament was $650 per game. Even the championship.

Rhino Thu Dec 14, 2000 05:30pm

Current game fees in the Southwest

AZ HS Varsity $40
JUCO $67 plus travel (Avg. $85)
DII $95
Big Sky (Tier system per experience $400-$550)
PAC 10 $600 non-conference $800 conference + travel
both D1's give approx $100 per diem per assignment

stripes Thu Dec 14, 2000 07:26pm

There is no across the board pay scale for D1 ball. It is left up to the individual conferences.

The Big Sky no longer pays on a tier system. It is a flat $500 game fee. I have heard that the PAC 10 is paying a flat $800 and the Mountain West is a flat $650. The tier system has not been a good one. It has caused more problems than it has solved. The WCC is the lowest paying conference in the West--$325.

Aside from the differing pay scales, the conferences also pay differently when it comes to travel. Some pay up front, some send you tickets and others reimburse you. Rental cars, per diem and hotels are another story.
