the ball is placed at the disposal of the free thrower which is team A. Can a player of team A call a timeout before he shoots the free throw? where in the rule book can i find this?

Yes, Team A may request a time out. See Rule 5-8 Art. 3.
Time out may be granted when the ball is in control or at the disposal of a player of one's team.
