Quick question, I would like some advice on the mechanic for an intentional foul [both 2-whistle adn 3-whistle]; who counts, where positioned; looking at or for? I have seen it done several ways, and really haven't found it specifically anywhere in the manuals.

I don't understand your question.

Too Early Sunday

My apologies if my question wasn't clear. I would like to know when administering an intentional foul; where does L,T, & C [in 3-whistle] position themselves? what is L's, T's and C's [in 3-whistle] primary responsibilities [I.E. in regular shooting foul [2-whistle] L administers, and watches first block table-side and entire other lane line, T watches shooter and other spots on table-side & has visible count]

Now what are the responsibilities for L T & C on an intentional or technical with players behind FT line extended?

Are you asking what is the signal?
If so, it is crossed arms over the head...signal #14 in the OFFICIAL NFHS BASKETBALL SIGNALS section of the rule book.

Are you asking who administers the Free Throw?
A normal switch on the foul with the lanes cleared and Lead administering FT...take the ball OOB at the nearest spot of the foul after the FTs.

Are you asking who counts the 10 seconds on the FT?
The Trail Official who normally counts.

Are you asking who is looking for violations?
Same as any FT...looking for the shooter stepping over the FT line, etc.

Only thing is...the officials should be aware of all the players that are not on the FT line. There could be a potential problem with the players milling around behind the FT shooter.

Having said all that...some officials shoot the intentional FT the same as a Technical FT...with the Lead administering it and the Trail standing near the division line, watching/discussing with the "off players".

Thought that was the C. Calling official opposite the table counts the 10 seconds on the FT, signals how many shots to start and how many left, chops the clock on a miss, watches the shooter, and opposite free throw lane for violations.

Lets not forget to watch the bench for timeouts being called and beckoning substitutions.
