Player 'A' stole the ball from player 'B' and proceeded to score a lay-up. 'B' committed a hard foul on 'A' who was in the act of shooting. The basket was good. The lead official ruled it an intentional foul.
We had the players at half court and gave 'A' one shot and them gave team 'A' the ball at the spot of the foul. Should 'A' have received two shots for the intentional foul even though the basket was good? |
All intentional fouls get 2 shots unless it occurs duing an unsuccessful 3 point atte
So, you get the 2 points, 2 shots, and the ball. Could end up being 6 or 7 point play.

... And the throw-in would be administered on the endline near A's basket.
|
...And the the players do not have to go to half court. They simply have to stay behind the FT line extended and the 3 point arc.
|
In FIBA, it would have been correct.
