Just out of curiosity, has anyone else been experiencing long download times on this site. I have dial-up so its usually slow, but not this slow.

I have. And even sometimes I get an "error message" and it does not actually go to the site. This was happening a couple of months ago as well. Probably something up with the software.

Slow here as well, even with cable.

No problem from N.Z. When progress is slow I click the refresh button. That speeds things along.

I'm on DSL @256K . This is the slowest site I go to.

In some cases, it is a factor of usage. Usually this only happens when there are large quantities of data (graphics, fancy stuff, etc.) in addition to high usage, but servers do have their limits. This site has a lot of visitors compared to a few years ago. And that's a good thing :)

Happened all day yesterday and I am on cable. Finally gave up.

Something is happening. Really hard to go from page to page without an error message.

Next time you run into Clint and John H. ask them about LaPorte'. Sounds like they had a blast.
