Wink

I have a question. I was at a High School Varsity basketball game friday night. Close game, going down to the wire. Both teams are out of timeouts. Team A shooting 2 free throws. 2 of team B players go to their bench while they are lining up to shoot the first free throw, and get a drink of water. Is that legal?

I don't see why it wouldn't be legal as long as they remain inbounds on the court. If it is illegal, I don't recall a rule addressing this.

Sure, it's legal. You can do it while the clock is running if that's what you want to do. You just have to stay on the court.

What about a drink for the refs? I've never done it during a time out, but I've sure been tempted to at times!!! What would be the problem with quietly getting a swaller during a TO?

Deos it create a disadvantage to the offence for not allowing them to get "refreshed", or what if another player was to take water out to them during the free throws? All of course being done during your 10 secound count for the shooter at the line.

Team A requires one person at line. Team B requires 2 people on lane. seems that A has the numbers advantage here, not B.

On the numbers, yes. But a good drink of water goes a long way!

Depends on game management,I've had games where they've brought us water at timeouts.
