Had a couple of games [underclass] this past weekend, there were many players with T-Shirts under the uniforms, because it was a Frosh game, we didn't really make a point of the color contrast. The uniforms were green, the T-shirts white, my partner felt that white under the green uniform was okay, but had a problem with the sleeveless T-shirts [also white] and felt that those sleeve-less shirts were "illegal". I guess I would have gone the route of the T-Shirt not acceptable, while the sleeve-less, with nothing showing from under the uniform was okay.

Just want to get some ideas and get on firm ground if this comes up at higher level.

The only requirements on sleeves have to do with them being the same length and that they not be ragged or frayed.

I think your partner had the two issues confused.

T-shirts have to be similar in color to the color of the jersey. Each individual player has to have sleeves the same on both arms and as Tony said, they can't be ragged.

See rule 3-4-6.

Pick and choose your battles. If the shirt is in at least decent condition, LET IT GO. There are far too many other things to worry about.

Wrong.

This isn't a battle.

I'm not worried.

He's properly attired or he doesn't play.

Officials who ignore things like this create problems for the rest of us.

I have to agree with BBR. While consistancy from one official to the next is difficult if not impossible, the closer we can get to that goal the better it will be for each of us. When we set aside the easier, black and white issues like the t-shirts, the farther away we get from that ideal not closer.

Let's work hard to make each others next game easier.

Tony is right on on this one.

I'm (admittedly) a hard*&@ when it comes to the jewelery rule. The #1 complaint I get is that the refs let them play with it last week - of course, none of the players thinks the ref from last week is a jerk for not enforcing the rule.

#2 complaint is that the jewelery cannot be removed (new piercing, hemp necklace, the like). Remarkable how quickly that changes once told that the player can't play with the jewelery on.
