Last week in a Boy's Varsity game we are at Halftime and B1 for some unknown reason tip dunks a ball. My partner was watching the whole thing and I heard the rim.
I just want to make sure we handled it correctly. We informed the coaches that we had a Technical against B1 and we would be shooting 2 free throws. My question then is do we give A the ball OOB even though B should have gotten the ball based on the arrow? |
You enforce the T to start the 3rd period. Part of the penalty for the T is possession of the ball to Team A. Therefore, the arrow will not be used at the start of the period.

Yes, under NFHS, A gets the ball and the arrow does not change.
Never heard the term "tip dunk". Please explain. |
A gets the ball OOB at center after the 2 FT's for the T. That's part of the penalty for the dunk. Whoever had the arrow(B) retains it. Don't forget that the head coach of team B gets charged with an indirect T too, and now gets seatbelted. The direct T counts towards the 2nd half bonus too.

Tip dunk...
Ball shot and comes off the rim and a player jumps and grabs the ball and dunks it all in one motion.
I thought that we had handled it correctly but I didn't have my books around to check this morning when I was thinking about it again. |
