(1) As A1 dribbles ball, he commits common foul on B1. Player Control Foul on A1, no foul shots awarded to B1 regardless of total Team A fouls in the half. Is this correct?

(2) As A1 dribbles ball, A2 commits common foul on B2. Player Control Foul on A2, no foul shots awarded to B2 regardless of total Team A fouls in the half. Is this correct?

(3) Airborne shooter A1 clearly releases ball before crashing down into B1 who had legal guarding position. Player Control Foul on A1, no foul shots for B1 regardless of total Team A fouls in the half. Is this correct? Does this basket count ??

Thank you!

1) Correct. Player Control, no foul shots.

2) Incorrect. A2 does not have the ball, thus no player control. If B is in the bonus B2 will shoot (1 and 1 or 2 shots depending).

3) Correct. Player Control, no foul shots. Basket can never count when Player Control foul is called.

(1)Yes
(2)A2 cannot commit PC without the ball, so A2 committed a Personal foul and in HS you shoot if in the bounus.
(3) yes and the basket does not count in HS and Women's college. But does count in Men's college.

Correct. And if a basket goes during the play, you wipe it off.

In college, correct, depending on which college. In NF, incorrect. B2 gets ball out of bounds, or shots if B is in the bonus. Remember, if the penalty is OOB, it's nearest the spot of the foul, not where the ball was.

No shots, wipe the basket, if A1 had not yet landed from the shot. If he touched-down first, basket is good, but B gets shots if they are in the bonus.

Thank you.
You're welcome! And you're welcome to the board.

(Doggone it, Bart and Grail are BOTH faster than me, and better answers, too. Mine still has better presence...)

So does the concept of "Team Control Foul" exist in High School Federation rules?

Thanks again for the quick and informative posts!
