First thing to go...
JR,
As you well know, one of the 1st things to go is your memory. And, it is funny what sticks out in your memory like this play in the "funny book" or simplified and illustrated. They had the same play in there for years with B1 catching the ball with his foot on the line. A1 threw the ball out of bounds. When they changed the "interp"?, they used the same picture, but now it B that caused the ball to go out of bounds. Same picture, same play but different ruling. Anyway, trust me on this one if you don't have the old S&I's laying around.

I distinctly remember learning as a player in the 70s that if you were OOB and the ball hit you, you were part of the OOB and the player that touched the ball last before you caused it to go out. I thought I was crazy when I saw the rules a few years ago as an adult - now I once again believe that I was on the right track with an old memeory.
