We've had some discussion recently about shoe inserts and their ability to reduce leg pain.

I went to our local Sport Shoppe and found a pair of Sorbothane Air OR Sorbothane Ultra Soul inserts for around $18.99. Does anyone have any experience with these and if so what? Also, is there a better insert and where do I find it?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the Sorbothane. I use the Spenco inserts. The important thing is to get insoles that will support your arches and hels, not just cushion them. A hard molded plastic insert is best for relieve and prevention of arch and heel pain. Spenco insoles are really generic orthotics. Although probably not as good as those made by podiatrists, my foot doctor recommended the SPenco inserts to me when we discovered my insurance would not pay for the custom inserts.

Get the Ultra. They are firmer, absorb more shock, and last longer. They usually are a dollar or two more, but well worth it. They are my preferred brand, I tried spenco last year and I didn't think they worked as well.
