When I first saw the change this year, I figured I would never see it. Well, you know this crazy sport is. It went down like this.

A1 went in for a gorilla dunk. He grabbed the ring legally to protect himself. The dunk rattled the ring, went up, then came back down and hit the ring again, while he was still holding it down.

This is one rule I haven't spent a lot of time worrying about. I just don't see much (any?!?) play above the rim!

You didn't need the new rule for this, Damian. This would've been BI even before the change. The new rule applies after A1 releases the rim, but before it returns to its original position.
