wizard I've been search the rules and case books for info on opponents along the lane talking, yelling, distracting etc. the FT shooter. Is it a technical foul or just a viloation, shooting again? Anyone? Is it the same penalty for bench personnel?
ChuckElias Violation. 9-1-5. It just says no "opponent" shall disconcert. It doesn't make a distinction between players and bench personnel. Just any opponent.
Jurassic Referee From the 2001-2002 POE's- Disconcertion During Free Throws - "The committee emphasizes that disconcertion is a violation(9-1-5), and may result in a substitute throw. If persistent or deemed unsporting the team/player may be penalized with a technical foul".
