Seems to be a game between Good Counsel (MD) and Bishop O’Connell (VA). I used to officiate in that area years ago when they played in the same league as DeMatha, Gonzaga (DC), and Paul VI. I don’t know if that is still the case. It was the Washington Catholic league. Most of those officials also worked at the college level. If that is the case today, I understand the confusion because the NCAAM changed their TC foul rule a few years ago to award bonus FTs on this type of foul (the offense has possession, but then the ball gets knocked loose by the defense and a foul occurs prior to the defense gaining control).
There was an NCAA tournament in which this particular foul situation occurred several times and the officials screwed up most of them. We posted about it on this forum and pointed out that FTs should not have been awarded. The NCAAM changed their rule that summer.
The NFHS rule is still that this is a team control foul and no FTs are awarded.
