NCAAW Shot Clock
A gets a rebound (shot clock to 30) and begins to dribble up court. A1 passes to A2, but the ball is intentionally kicked by B1 in the BC. Shot clock shows 28.
Leave it at 28 or reset to 30? |
If I were still officiating, I definitely would know...LOL
According to this bulletin in paragraph 2, no reset. 2023-25PRWBB_ShotClockResetScenarios.pdf https://share.google/sLjBfpt8GgkFp0Mmg Sent from my SM-S926U using Tapatalk |

Bob: I checked the 2023-25 NCAA Women's Shot Clock Scenario and it seems to be silent on this particular situation. I texted Jon with the situation and I will post his Ruling when I receive it. MTD, Sr. |
Jon Levinson's response:
Jon just texted me back. The Shot Clock remains at 28 seconds per Rule 2-11.6.c.2:
Section 11: The shot-clock operator shall: Article 6: Stop the timing device and: c. Reset to 20 seconds or the time remaining on the shot clock (whichever is greater) when: 2. A violation of Rule 9-6 is committed by the defense during team control or by the non-shooting team following an unsuccessful try that does not contact the ring or flange; or Note: This rule applies only when the foul or violation occurs prior to a try for goal that hits the ring or flange.
