Concussion
I have seen players wear head gear for concussions. Recently I saw a player wear neck gear for concussion called a Q-Collar.
Is the school responsible to provide a document from a medical professional for a player to wear these items? How about insulin pumps? Or is there something from NFHS stating no documentation needed? My brain is full. I can't remember |
Q collara are allowed for volleyball without prior auth. I'd be worried about them being torn off during play in basketball.
Insulin pumps should be securely attached, covered and padded if they can't be removed. |

NFHS last updated their statement on medical devices in 2023. So that thread is a bit out of date

The "concussion helmets" are NOT allowed in NCAAW, and waivers won't be given.
I *think* they are also not allowed in NFHS |
