High School Travel ???

It's not a great video, and it's not a great angle, but would this be a travel in a high school game?

Travel was my very first impression the very first time I saw it in real time, but I later had trouble identifying the pivot foot when I replayed the video.

I know that we don't count steps (we identify limits on the pivot foot) but his rhythm and bobbing head tells me he took three steps.

To me, he pretty clearly has the ball in his hands when his right foot is still on the floor at 0:03 (partially hidden by black #7). Then left foot hits the floor, then right foot hits the floor.

Thanks bob jenkins. I thought the same.

Of course, I know more about rocket surgery and brain science than I know about NBA travel rules.

Were you asking if this was a travel in the NBA or were you asking if this is a travel in high school? You don't need to know the rules in the NBA to have an opinion on this play as it applies to high school.

Which is why I didn't even broach to the topic of whether, or not, this was a travel in the NBA.

From the camera angle it is difficult to see when W34 ended his Dribble because of B7's position on the Court. That said, per NFHS and NCAA Men's/Women's this is a Traveling Violation but per NBA/WNBA and FIBA this is not a Traveling Violation.

Yeah. My daughter's AAU team discovered this when they played in a EuroBasket tournament in Spain a few years ago.
