Lost sneaker?

When a player loses a sneaker during a live ball, do you typically stop the game (after any immediate action ends) ruling this is a dangerous situation and allow him/her to replace his footwear? Or is this the player's problem that he/she has to address on his own or with a time-out?

For me it was a combination of the level of play and safety concerns.

And the higher the level, the more you let this go and have the player address when the clock is stopped.

I don't think I ever stopped the clock for this at HS level or above.
