Anticipation (Carly Simon, 1971) ...
2022-23 NFHS Basketball Rules Changes came out on May 2, 2022.
May 2 is less than two weeks away. The anticipation is like that on Christmas morning. What do you think Santa will bring us this year? What do you want Santa to bring us this year? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0IobpIKshr8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Hints ???

For the upcoming season I would expect to see Pic Plays or textual topics on, at minimum, the following:
1. Post defense and interior rebounding so as to emphasize displacement of A caused by improper use of lower body and/or behind the knee contacts by B, and, acute recognition and penalization of the initiator on arm entanglement /restrainment during the positioning of A and B for rebounding action. 2. Early and Inclusive management and/or prevention of hostilities by coaches and fans towards the Officials so as to emphasize in the pregame meeting that civility is expected on coach : official in-game communications and noncompliance will be enforced as per the rulebook, and, the importance of utilizing an "undelayed notification" of the faculty game administrator to address any spectator/fan issue. 3. Delays in the resumption of play following a timeout so as to emphasize that upon demonstratively lingering in the huddle well beyond the 2nd horn and asundry notifications, the Official will immediately initiate resumption of play procedures as per the rulebook. Modern thought recognizes that such lingering action could be an intentional ploy, especially when the throw in spot is in their frontcourt and close to their bench area. I could go on and on with more ; however, I do not want to ramble... |

Based on the 2023-24 NFHS Basketball Rules Questionnaire, I'm guessing that there may be some rule changes related to bonus free throws by quarters (instead of halves), and jump balls. However, these annual questionnaires have seldom given us any really good hints in the past. |
