Barely A Blip On The Radar ...

This is tame for a UCONN coach, barely a blip on the radar.

We had Jim Calhoun for 26 years.

Calhoun never met a four letter word he didn't like.

Listen for Calhoun's potty-mouth voice ten seconds into the video.

Full disclosure: Doctors at the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center, UCONN Health, fully funded by Jim Calhoun, saved my life.

Glad you were able to get the care you needed BillyMac! I agree completely on Calhoun. Love that he was "my" coach and wouldn't want my kids anywhere around him during a game because they'd definitely pick up a new word or two to use!

Reminds me of a story about Greg Maddux. As great a pitcher as he was a co-worker thought it would be great to get dugout tickets for he and his kids during a game in which Maddux was pitching. Big mistake as Maddux definitely worked "blue" both on the field, coming into/out of the dugout, and while in there as well.

Jim Calhoun Report Card
Recruiting: A+ (got the players he needed and wanted)
Practice Preparation: A+ (players were always ready on game day)
Bench Coaching: C+ (poor play calling, poor substitution decisions)
NCAA Compliance: C+ (mostly minor violations, some problems with players graduating)
Public Persona: D- (short tempered, foul mouthed to officials, reporters, and players)
Private Persona: A+ (lots of charitable works, both time and money)
Popularity In Connecticut: A+ (could run for Governor and win)
