Can anyone post video of the play near the end of regulation which was eventually ruled an inadvertent whistle?

This highlight package does not show the play in question.

This has the floor view of the play at least....not a great angle. The play was a total mess though.

I think this is a foul. I think the official got straightlined and did not call anything, which is understandable but also not an excuse.

Peace

The mess was the inadvertent whistle/phantom OOB call....and the 5 minute discussion that ensues. Just a braintfart by McCall. Sh*t happens.

I feel like his body language says he did not want to call a foul in that situation. And if he did he would have got shit about it. But to me, this was a foul, at least from the angle we saw, and unfortunately for CSU, that would have sent a kid to the line to win the game. But hey, don't foul.

This to me is where "Let them decide the game" goes wrong. We are so eager to not make calls at the end of the game, we end up putting a team at a disadvantage.

Peace

Good call on the "body language" observation. Almost like an "oh shit, i wonder if i can sell an OOB call here and we can review it." lol

"Let them decide the game"
People (and some officials) don't realize that players can decide the game by deciding to foul.

I was going to say he probably chose not to call a foul, then the ball-handler lost control of the ball and almost steps OOB and it threw everything off. When he went against his instincts he became discombobulated.

Agree. All of a sudden a disadvantage, that may not have been adjudicated originally, became very evident.
