This one threw me. On further thought, I guess it makes sense. Just never something I considered before.

I can tell you it probably slips my mind to start a count when it happens when I'm Trail.

Apparently, the count starts because Team A has team control (still) of a ball that has backcourt status when it touches the floor there.

I think there's a case play somewhere that matches this, but I can't find it at present.
