I heard about this silliness. Coaches think they can do anything.

Peace

Time Out Area ...

Illegal in NFHS.

1-13-3: The time-out area must be the area inside an imaginary rectangle formed by the boundaries of the sideline (including the bench), end line, and an imaginary line extended from the free-throw lane line nearest the bench area meeting an imaginary line extended from the coaching-box line.

2-7-4: The officials must conduct the game in accordance with the rules. This includes: Prohibiting practice during a dead ball, except between halves.

You can always give a T for not complying with a request. But they are not allowed all over the court and this does not matter the level. The very same thing applies at that level. This is so unusual that I am sure the officials or any official was caught off guard that this even had to be addressed. But they simply cannot be all over the court during a timeout. Warn and if they insist you have tools like a technical to remedy the situation.

Peace

It almost seems like a coach had them do some suicides/typewriters because he was frustrated with them.

Comical because that seems like more of a middle school thing than a NCAAM D1 thing.

In any case, not the time or place!

What are we even looking at?

I see a bunch of players running (roughly) towards their bench area for what is apparently a timeout? Is the video cut short and not showing something?

I thought it was walk-on players warming up by doing sprints during a timeout. If they were players on the court heading toward a timeout huddle, why did they sprint all the way to the endline? But I could be wrong.

It was players doing suicides after the coach called timeout and wanted to punish them for not defending fast breaks properly.
