Was this properly ruled a kicking violation? Did the Trail official use the proper site of violation signaling when making this ruling? If the official did not use the proper procedure to signal the violation, please explain the proper procedure and be as detailed as possible.

My comment: The official did not use the proper signal to rule a kicking violation. Lead did not precede the kicked ball signal with a stop the clock open hand violation signal.

Missed the "be as detailed as possible" first time through.

... After signaling the kicked ball violation, the Lead should have indicated the direction of the ensuing throwin and indicated the throwin location.

It was a kicking violation. Pretty easy one.

Maybe the officials were distracted still thinking about why they didn't charge the home coach with a technical foul for slamming the table, and yelling, "Call the foul", at them three minutes earlier. Maybe just wanted to get out of Dodge.
