Not that the refs reaction was OK, but I must say... Good work by game management to keep that guy taking video away. But what can you expect in AAU?

AAU and YBOA Tournaments.

As one who has officiated in over 45 AAU, YBOA, USSSA, AYBTour, and PAL Boys' and Girls' National Championship Tournaments and at least twice as many regional qualifying tournaments for some of these and other organizations, I am going to ask that we do not refer to travel team tournaments as AAU tournaments but refer to them as travel team basketball. The reason being is that AAU has issued press releases that it will take legal action against those label travel team basketball tournaments as AAU when it could be well be a tournament sponsored by YBOA, AYBTour, NAYBTour, or any number of other organizations that sponsor such tournaments.

Thanks,

MTD, Sr.

Was that an AAU tournament or some other random organization's tournament?

It was just a tournament, not really anyone associated with AAU to my understanding. There was a couple of things going on with the girls and boys this weekend in Indy. I was at another site working a camp. We heard about this Saturday night. I am not sure if one of the shoe companies were running this or not.

Peace

This is actually same side, a different coin. It is the same teams that play in AAU, but AAU is not running this tournament.

Peace

From the article in the Indianapolis Star:
“The tournament was put on by Exposure Basketball, which did not return IndyStar requests for comment.”

I highly doubt they would want to comment on that because they might be liable for the incident on some level. Not saying they would lose any money in the long run, but would they have much of a leg to stand on if they had to deal with a lawsuit for the incident and not having proper security?

Peace
