crosscountry55 Multiple Sports wroteDoes anyone know who the six replacement officials are ??? Per Yahoo Sports, there will be four replacements, and they were meeting protocols just in case (sort of like alternate jurors still sit in the jury box). No names yet. Two will not be replaced at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Raymond John Adams posted on Facebook that the official who tested positive is very sick at the moment. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Drizzle I'm not seeing Precision Time devices in the early games. Did NCAA decide not to use them again or was it simply a logistics issue?
SC Official Drizzle wroteI'm not seeing Precision Time devices in the early games. Did NCAA decide not to use them again or was it simply a logistics issue? Yes. NCAA didn't want to pay what the PTS owner was charging them.
ilyazhito I'm surprised. Usually NCAA Division 1 schoolas and conferences can afford PTS, not to mention the tournament organizers, who is in this case the NCAA itself. Still, it will be interesting to see if the NCAA officials are used to working non-PTS games. Good luck to the NCAA officials chosen for this abnormal tournament season, and may the next season be a more normal one.
WhistlesAndStripes Sirmons was on the notables not on the list above. He in fact worked a game either Thursday or Friday. Can’t remember which. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JRutledge Maybe you need to look at the other list or thread. Sirmons worked both Thursday and Friday. Peace

Multiple Sports Haven't seen Earl Walton or Mike Stephens...is it safe to assume they fell to Covid. Also who is the youngest official and who is the oldest?? Thinking Desai may be youngest and Pollard or Harris may be the oldest ???
JRutledge Multiple Sports wroteHaven't seen Earl Walton or Mike Stephens...is it safe to assume they fell to Covid. Also who is the youngest official and who is the oldest?? Thinking Desai may be youngest and Pollard or Harris may be the oldest ??? They had a smaller group. The officials have worked more games and at least a game every day. So you have not seen many guys that would normally work at least a round. It also seems they have a lot of guys that would work the Final Four or on the cusp of working a Final Four. Peace
Multiple Sports I understand but if you think they aren't in the Top 60 your fooling yourself. Unless they didn't meet a requirement via arbiter, I'm thinking something happened ( Covid prior to arriving in Indy ). Both of their names are on the list that started this thread....
dahoopref Multiple Sports wroteHaven't seen Earl Walton or Mike Stephens...is it safe to assume they fell to Covid. One was injured prior to the tournament and the other had Covid. They informed JD of their situation after the conference tournaments they worked. The referees selected for the national tournament were notified before the conference tournaments began.
dahoopref Officials for the Final Four: P. Adams, J. Anderson, B. Boroski, J. Breeding, R. Groover, K. Kimble. R. McCall, G. Pollard, C. Rastetter, L. Sciratto, and D. Sirmons. 2 will be alternates.
JRutledge AremRed wroteFirst FF for Larry Scirotto and Gerry Pollard....likely that they will be the alternates. We know Gerry was the alternate in the Gonzaga-UCLA game. I know Bo Boroski is working the title game tonight. That is all I know right now. Peace
