Indiana HS Coach Goes Bob Knight

This is unreal...this is HS basektball....And they wonder why we can't recruit new, younger officials...

Is there a video somewhere? I did not see one in the article but perhaps it was somewhere beneath the litany of popups that kept me from reading the full article.

Let me guess - somehow this will be pinned on the crew because they may or may not have missed a call or two that went against this clown's team?

I stopped reading after the 4th paragraph, by which time I learned:

- the head coach earned two T's for tossing a chair and a ball on the court
- the AD was tossed one quarter later after expressing displeasure with the officials
- the assistant coach threw a chair at the end of the game in an attempt to display his displeasure with the officiating.

Do I need therapy for saying, after 21 years of officiating, that this action wouldn't surprise me if it happened in one of my games, nor would it make me want to STOP officiating...? Now if I was in the stands thinking of starting, that'd be a different story...

What's crazy is that the coach was from the visiting team playing back in his old high school gym that is named after his late step-father.

This is my favorite line

"I've had a chance to reflect," Moore said. "I feel like I could've handled things in a better manner."

Ya think.

SC - I don't think it was in the article but...Yes, I have it on Twitter if you are on there, I can DM it to you if you send me your Twitter handle.

I have had both of those schools and had the last game of his stepfather before he was killed in a car accident like a week later in 2017. That was actually my first game high school game in Indiana. That being said I had this team last year and they were basically fine.

Now I am not surprised that this happen because of things I have heard, but I a surprised he went that many times at the apple and thought that was a good idea after assistant stopped him the first time.

Peace

Malice And Forethought ...

I thought that this was the worst part. The others may have been "in the heat of the moment" (still inexcusable). This had malice and forethought, and if the officials had left the court, it was also cowardly.

Was there a lady across the court calling, "If you’re not going to sit down any more today than you have so far, could I have your chair?" :D

This is disgusting beyond words/explanation . As others have already said, this is an (egregious) example of coach behavior that makes officiating less appealing to newer or prospective officials.

Nice to see a school administration practice what it preaches. For once.

Good.

And I hope that they also fired the assistant coach and the horse he rode in on.
