No Fans for March Madness
 
NCAA has made the decision not to allow fans at this years tournament to fight coronavirus. Only essential personnel and some family will be admitted.

Knew this was coming. They don’t care about ticket revenue because that organization makes so much $ from the TV broadcast contract. All they want to do is honor the TV contract.

Will really hurt a lot of local businesses though.

We've always somewhat joked about having games played with no fans allowed in the gym. We've got our so be careful with what you wish for I guess.

And with the Ivy League tournament and CBI being cancelled, officiating paychecks are being affected

No fans in the stands is not unheard of. Years ago, as I recall, the PSAL (NYC's public league) championship was played in Madison Square Garden with no fans, because of unruly and violent behavior.

All independent contractors involved with the sports/entertainment industry will be impacted.

This will likely get yanked if/when one of the players is tested positive.

B1G Tourney here in Indy this week...essential fans only. NCAA Regionals scheduled here for two weeks from now.

The economic impact is tremendous...huge blow to local businesses if it doesn't take place.

Waiting to see what the IHSAA does with the Boys State Tourney which are at Regionals stage this weekend.
