State of Ohio Governor Michael DeWine signed a Executive order on Tuesday effective Wednesday which ordered all sporting events (youth, JrHS/HS, college, and professional) to be played with only immediately families of the players and essential personnel being allowed to be present. The OhioHSAA Girls' Basketball State Finals, which are played at The Ohio State University, which has suspended face-to-face classes until March 30th, is this weekend. The OhioHSAA Boys' Basketball Regionals started yesterday at various sites around Ohio, with the State Finals the following weekend at The Ohio State University. My Youngstown State University Penguins men's basketball team is to play host next week to an opponent to be T.B.A. on March 18th. Ohio also has two major Winter sports teams: the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Columbus Blue Jackets as well as minor hockey league teams in Youngstown, Cleveland, Toledo, and I think Dayton, and Cincinnati. This should be an interesting couple of weeks. MTD, Sr. |
The CIF just shut down the CA basketball state finals which were slated for Golden 1 arena in Sacramento (home court of the NBA’s Kong’s).
