Different sport but in Minnesota there has been an uproar over a team not being allowed to weat jerseys in a game to honor a police officer shot in the line of duty since the jerserys don't meat NFHS rules.

They can wear jerseys that honor people...just not those jerseys. Makes sense that honoring jerseys must meet specifications of governing authority. Should have considered all of that before making the jerseys although their workaround will do the job.

1) The school should check before wearing something like this (or pink jerseys or purple headbands if that's not a school color, etc).

2) What's the hockey penalty for wearing illegal jerseys? suppose, for example, it's a 2-minute penalty -- have the other coach agree to just run out the clock during the penalty.
