Cincinnati-Memphis Verticality and T

Can someone post the sequence at 3:31 in the second half where a Memphis defender walls up and then the Cincinnati coach gets whacked during a Memphis fastbreak?

Looked like a great no-call to me and of course Bilas thought it was a foul. I would have preferred to see the T withheld until the transition play was over, however.

So the defender was vertical until after the offense made contact but then he reaches with the right hand and arm forward to block the shot -- may have made contact with the arm and if he did at that point I have that as a foul. Pretty good verticality until he moves his hand and arm to block -- and that movement wasn't a product of the offensive players contact. You see it really will in the slo-mo #55 is who I reference.

The question is "why"? Does the Offensive Initiate Contact make the defender's arms come forward?

I'm going to give the defender the benefit of the doubt on this one. I have seen players that are much worse if a defender is trying to block a shot at the last minute like in this play.

I think it is a solid no call.

Peace

I see the defender swinging his arm down on his own volition, not from the initial contact.

I've got a foul here too. Same reasons as others. Great d until he attempted to meet the ball and missed

Tough to make out perfectly but I think that 55 was vertical and legal. I believe 23 white takes no contact from the offense and swings down to block the shot. Looks like contact with the arm but ref would have a better look.

I can't re-watch the video while at work, but as I remember it, #55 swings down well after the initial contact, not as a reflex to the contact.
