Bonus FT?

NFHS rules. Both teams in the bonus. Team A has the ball and an errant pass occurs. Creating a loose ball. Before Team B reaches the ball, Team A holds Team B from getting to the ball. Does Team B shoot the bonus FT?

Team control still exists until B gains possession.

No, because the foul by A is a team control foul.

And so people realize this, the NCAA side changed this rule. You would shoot FTs in this situation because you have a loose ball foul. NF has stayed with the rule it has always been.

Peace

NCAAM changed the rule.

NCAAW officials, players, and coaches are smart enough to get it right. ;)

For it to be considered a loose ball, the pass would need to have been deflected by the defense or muffed by a teammate.

Rule 4 Section 24. Loose Ball
A loose ball occurs when a player who is holding or dribbling the ball:
1) fumbles it,
2) loses control of the ball when a defensive player bats or deflects it out of his control,
3) releases the ball for a try for a goal,
4) a pass between teammates is deflected by a player even though there is still team control or
5) a pass between teammates is muffed or not caught cleanly.

Would the hold require an "intentional " foul to be called? If so, would that change anything?

Check the definition of an intentional foul.

As for if it would change anything, what is the penalty for all intentional personal fouls?

4.19.7 SITUATION B:

A1 is passing the ball to A2 in the team's frontcourt when B2 deflects the pass. As A2 and B2 are attempting to retrieve the loose ball, A2 illegally pushes B2 from behind and is called for a foul. Team B is in the bonus.

RULING: No free throws are awarded as this is a team-control foul. Award the ball to Team B at a designated spot out of bounds closest to where the foul occurred. (4-12-2, 4-12-3b, 7-5-4a)
