I started late too...this will be my 20th season of HS ball. I'm 58.

When I can't beat the players to my spot at Lead, then it's time. I feel like I owe the game that.

I once worked with a "veteran" official who refused to accept the fact that his time had come. He was being overrun in transition by the Trail as he was trying to get to Lead...in a girls varsity game. It was embarrassing. I don't want to be "that guy".

Good litmus test. There's just so much one can do with getting good angles until it becomes "cheating", cheating the players, coaches, fans, local association, and your partners.
