Correctable Error - WNBA Championship Game

Happens to the best of em......

Less than two minutes to go in the final game and the Mystics have the ball up by ~ 8.

A Suns player runs over a Mystics screener low in the block.

The Mystics send Delle Donne to the line thinking she was fouled, and she makes the first FT. One of the officials comes into the lane and says she's the wrong shooter, it should be Tolliver. A look at the replay and the official is correct, Tolliver should be at the line.

They take the point off the board and Tolliver then makes both her FTs.

It helps that this yr the Mystics were the best FT shooting team in the history of the WNBA and Tolliver is one of the best ever in league history hitting 88% for her career.

The replay showed that while both were involved in the play and contact, correcting it was the right move.

Appears to be a basic and easy to adjudicate CE situation.

And, at least they caught it. I think (with no data to support this) that more often the wrong player is allowed to stay at the line -- especially when there's any sort of confusion on who it should be.

My point of contention is whether the contact on the screen that led to the whistle was called correctly.
