Both in the title of the article and in the text of the article it's states "tried to call a timeout". In NFHS games one either requests a timeout or one doesn't request a timeout, I would never suggest the one "tries to request a timeout" in a NFHS game. Is it different in the NBA? Does the offending team get a penalty and yet not get the timeout? Or is this article poorly written? |
The NBA rule book says the excessive timeout will be granted and the penalty is one free throw and possession to the other team after the timeout.
