Anyone watching this right now? At 9:59 in the second half Coach K calls TO and calls one of the officials over to talk. Dan Dakich then proceeds to rant the entire timeout about how officials shouldn't give K their ear and that it would "infuriate" him if he were the opposing coach.

Yup, announcers going off on......nothing.

How about Duke last shot? Foul during Allen's 3?

I just saw the highlights of the game before rolling into work.

That play didn't look like the VT player committed a foul.

Question....why do grown ash men continue to wear their hair like a woman? And, why do they keep hyphenating their last names? Two trends I hope go away much much sooner than later.

Maybe you're starting to be as old as you are cranky.

Nonetheless, I'm not a fan of the Raggedy Ann or perched opposum hair styles. At this point, I'd be happy if corn rows made a come back.

One broadcaster can't understand why they go over and another one would be incensed if they didn't go over.

Do what your supervisor wants.

#4) Foul. But a call would have to be consistent with how the entire game was called. I see there was only 4 fouls called (total) after 10 minutes of play in the second half.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned old Buzz Williams grabbing the mic and instructing his student section to stop cursing. Highlight of the game!!

Either 3:03 or 2:08 according to Play-By-Play, it was just before Allen was on the FT line.

1. Don't go over, watch what happens. We have technical fouls and calls to supervisor saying "He won't talk to me. I don't ever want him again."

2. Goal tending, but should the lead signal? Don't get me wrong, I would be watching as well, but the C wasn't late with the call, so why not wait?

3. No foul. Clean strip.

4. In the first half? Maybe. End of the game? No. God no.

Which half?

So Duke has no chance to win the game if you are officiating because you are afraid to call a foul on the last shot of the game. Great philosophy!

2nd half

How about the free throws at 25.6 seconds left. Ball tipped out of bounds by Duke after missed free throw. VT player grabs a Duke player who had a play to save the ball preventing him from doing so. No foul called, crew has to go to the video to determine who the ball was off. Not their finest moment of the game.

Did anyone react to that no-call? Did anyone other than refs who've been trained to "watch the shooter come down" even notice the VT player jump slightly into Allen's path? The kid took a desperation shot and he isn't getting any help unless he ends up bleeding on the court.

Get the obvious.

Desperation? That's normal 3-point range. I know a Mid-Atlantic college supervisor who got on a crew for not calling a foul on a half-court heave at the end of a game. He said the crew needs to have the courage to make that call.

For #4, should goal tending be called? It looks to me like that shot still might have gone in.

Ball was coming up short of the rim. And that was the offensive player who grabbed the ball.

Might have been a foul. Seemed borderline to me. I stick with no call. Also, "the Kid" is Grayson Allen, he's not going to get borderline calls.

I thought it was really tough to tell from the angle we had if the ball was going to hit the rim. I thought it was going to hit the rim and go up in the air--with a minimal chance of going in on a bounce. But pretty irrelevant since it was the offensive player and the buzzer went off first.


Note that Allen did not even look for a call . . .
