Vid Request NCAAM: Illinois St vs Loyola Chicago - Dunk dead ball

With 5:46 remaining in the 2nd half, there is an obvious backcourt violation with ball now loose. Official blows his whistle and signals violation. After that, Loyola player gathers loose ball, continues from half court, and appears* to dunk the ball. Crowd even cheered about the apparent dunk. Officials did nothing about the dunking of a dead ball, well after the whistle.

*actual dunk not visible as camera angle switched as player was cocking his arm back in the air a few feet from rim. You could hear the apparent sound of a dunk though.

I saw the play and can post the video. Not sure I would have done anything either. For one there might have been some confusion as to if the ball was actually dead. It seems very loud there. The perspective of the officials is different on the floor in a loud gym than on TV.

Peace

I am looking at the BC violation. I am not sure that is a violation. He never touches the ball in the BC from my view.

Peace

JFTR, "dunking a dead ball" is no longer a T in NCAA.

Please forgive me. I was watching the game but was thinking NFHS rules. So, ignore this entire post. My bad, sheesh.
