Running Clock (Not Mercy Rule)

I do some weekend games with two 20-minute halves, running clock. The local rules are silent on this issue - when, if ever, to stop the clock:
-Injury
-Tying shoelaces
-Any extended discussion with the table

Inevitably, after a few seconds of any of the above, people start yelling to stop the clock - just wondering what everybody's experience is for this situation?

The local rules should specify. And, imo, injury (of the coach is beckoned) and table discussions should stop the clock; shoelaces should not (unless you think a team is intentionally doing it to delay). Clock should start when the ball becomes live.

This is what we do also. Timeouts also stop the clock, but not free throws. YMMV

Completely local rules. Unless they give you some guideline, you do whatever you wish. I am not stopping the clock for anything other than an extended injury or a timeout (even official timeout). Otherwise the clock all the time during play.

Peace

Gotta admit though, I like it when I get these games!

No official guidance here, however, some refs stop the clock on FTs with less than a minute.
