Ray Lutz
Got this word today, though original obit was back on 12/1 or so:
Good Morning, This is one of the most difficult emails I've had to write. I received some tragic news this morning and wanted you to be aware that Ray Lutz was called to heaven by the Lord. Seems God chose Ray this morning to sit next to him and oversee a class of new officials! Ray Lutz has touched so many lives both in the sports officiating world and in the Calhan community and he will be missed by so many. There is not enough space in this email to describe Ray Lutz--integrity, class, heart of gold, caring, legend and just one hell of a person are a few words I can think of! Ironically, when writing this email I gazed outside of my office and noticed the cloud formations this morning resembled angel wings--a sign Ray was in heaven and telling us he is in safe hands with the Lord! More details will follow when I get them. I do know there is NOT a facility in Colorado large enough to hold the number of people expected to honor this great man during his celebration of life! I will miss him dearly like so many others! Respectfully Bob Lantzyhudl.com |
Ray will be missed. For those who didn't know him, ray was a warm, funny, caring man. He gave much more to the officiating world than he took from it. I'm a better person because I know Ray.

Ray never spoke when I didn't learn something valuable about officiating, and about life. He was an amazing person who never tired of sharing with those around him.
