After 3 seasons in Nike shoes, I bought a pair of New Balance 990v4 for this season. I paid $161, including tax. I'll pay anything to have comfortable, well-fitting shoes.

They come in wider widths, which I compensated for in the Nike shoes by going up a half-size. I'm a 10.5 2E in New Balance and the fit is perfect.

Wore them last night for the first time. No foot pain, plenty of room to support a custom orthotic. No heel pain. Everything's great this morning. Of course, my season's 2 games old.

Curious about these Bondi 5 shoes, though. They're almost 4 ounces lighter than the NB shoes. Local store sells them, so I may go try a pair on -- I've seen online they run a size smaller than other shoes.
