Smile One of our officials did that ....
Years ago, one of our top officials came onto the court during pregame warmups of a varsity game at one of the biggest schools in the area with sunglasses and a cane for the visually impaired. I was not there but I was told that he brought the house down.

During a timeout, after a net got caught up on the ring, one of our shortest (and top) officials ran from midcourt, jumped as high as he could, and missed pulling down the net by well over a foot and a half. He did it on purpose, to give the fans a laugh, and to get the fans on his side. It worked.
