loose ball foul
Recently, I have heard announcers use the term "loose ball foul" in NCAA games.
Am I correct that there is no difference between loose ball and controlled ball fouls? Is this just announcers acting like they know more or is there a difference in pro, with announcers that overlap? ![]() YES, I know announcers are not rule experts. ![]() ![]()

1) During rebounding action when there is no Team Control 2) Action subsequent to an interrupted dribble or deflected pass when there still is Team Control I'm thinking most times announcers are referring to rebounding fouls. The NBA does have terminology in regards to Loose Ball Fouls.
