Both are indeed travels. In fact, in the first one, there are 3 travels on the same play. The ball handler, after picking up the ball with the right foot down, hopped on the right foot once before stepping to the left foot the right foot twice more. The first little hop was subtle and likely rarely called for good reason, but the other two were pretty obvious.

Don't put a cloud over our (likely) one conference victory this year!! We only have 5 wins for a reason.
I caught the 2nd one live and thought it was a travel in real time, but I'm not looking at the first video to confirm that travel :-) Looking back last year OSU was playing UW and the same player hit a long 3 to win the game. There was a thread about this shot and it was a clear travel that wasn't called and allowed OSU to win the game. Looks like Stevie Thompson is just lucky when it comes to officials and not calling late game travels on him for game winning shots. ![]() |

All I needed to see was "Spin move" to tell you it was a travel.
Seriously, every spin move you see....freeze it and rewind the tape. It's a travel approximately 98% of the time. That said, I'm certainly not going to be the only one calling it. "The game" of basketball has decided that this is, in practice, a legal move. |
