Violation on Jump Ball

Guessing this has been posted before but here goes anyway.
Jumper A-1 catches the jump ball. Officials rule a violation and give the ball to Team B for a throw in. After after the throw in ends which direction should the possession arrow point? Can't find a casebook play in the NFHS rule book.

Exact situation is in the case book. Rule 6. Read it over and over and over again. 6.1.4 sit C (d).

A1 violates when he catches ball. The arrow is not set at that moment. Team B will get a throw in for A1 violation. When you place the ball at disposal of Team B for that violation, the arrow is set towards team A. It does not change when that throw in ends.

If A1 caught the ball before it was tapped by either jumper, and the clock started, is it reset to 8:00?

If play is started or resumed by a jump, the clock shall be started when the tossed ball is legally touched.

Also, the jump ball is archaic and needs to be tossed from the game. We don't use peach baskets anymore. Give the ball to the visitors to start the game.

Previous to this caseplay interpretation being published, didn't the violating team lose the ball and lose the arrow?

This was actually a rule change by the NFHS about 12 years ago, not just a case book interpretation.

......and I had that exact play in one of my games yesterday. First time I believe. Glad we got it right! :)

As we discuss during pre-game, be ready to go at the tap!
