Duke/UNC 2nd half BI call (1:55)

Thoughts? I know what I think but I'm a Duke fan.

Honestly though, looked like a missed dunk. Nothing more. I understand he popped the rim and ball was in cylinder with rim moving but that was due the initial dunk attempt. Am I missing something?

Here is the play.

I don't know. I thought the one we had on here previously was more obvious. This one, I just don't know.

I might be wrong, but I like it. You can see the velocity with which the ball bounces back to the backboard after hitting the rim. This is caused by the rim snapping back and hitting the ball which tells me we have a problem.

I don't have anything on this. Play on.

This to me is obviously a violation. If he hangs on the rim just a little longer, the ball goes through the basket. He releases the ball and it hits the rim when it bounces back, that has been the rule for some time. Very good call.

Peace

+1. Note T an C both had it. Pull down a moveable ring such that it strikes the ball in the cylinder before returning to it's initial position = BI. Agree, very good call.

If you're a Duke fan and you don't like it, I'd say, "Dude, don't miss a 0-foot shot in the first place!" :D

I agree it's the right call. Made me look at NCAAM rule again about grabbing rim T. Only if "excessive" I think rule says. High school just grabbing it without threat of injury can be a T. I think I have this right.
